i really don't want to get to excited yet. we still won't know what kind of coaching staff or team we have until they start playing. all the players that have left concern me but maybe that was good thing and i don't want to get too up or down. all of this would not be an issue if trooper taylor had been given the oc job, not that i think he was more qualified than anyone else but no radical changes would have been made and he is a players coach and that might have gotten up a couple of wins more such as ucla and wyo which would have sent us to a bowl game and coach fulmer would still be the coach. to me that one thing might have changes the whole couse of events that have occured. to me the most important part of a college football team is having good assistant coaches. most all schools get good players with the equal amount of scholarship available(85) so how the staff develops the players will dictate how sucessful your program is. it would be nice to get all blue chip or 5 star players but that isn't possible but i think a good coaching staff can make their players get to the next level if the desire of the player is willing. we will just have to wait until the season starts to determine what direction the vols are going and it may take more than one season to sort it all out.
