Will Kiffin succeed

As a VOL fan I'm really hoping Hamilton got this hire right. CLK has put UT in the spotlight, sometimes for the wrong reasons. Still, he hauled in a very respectable recruiting class, set approriate dress codes for players, seems willing to discipline players and very uptempo practises. We just want to win, and if we don't at least make our opposition know they were in a football game. I will not make any predictions for the Florida game, just please no more beatdowns.

I agree with you overall view. i am not used to the contrversial banter that has gone back and forth between Kiffin and some other sec coaches as in the past years with Coach Fulmer as he was similar to Bear Bryant as far as poor mouthing about his team. As far as Kiffin goes we will have to wait till the season starts to see what we have in a coach. That is bringing alot of anxiety to vol fans. Just think if Coach Fulmer had made trooper taylor oc we probably would not be going thriugh this coaching change because we probably would have won ay least 7 games because we would have not had to go through a complete offensive overhaul and we would have kept an up tempo coach and a motivator and players coach who had intangables that can't be weighed or put in any kind of stats.

This whole state is full of people who need to get a life. Let me explain, I work with someone who buys the Knoxville paper every day to see the sports page, This person has also made the comment that if he had a gun he would like to blow the back windshield out of the car in front of us who simply had a "gator" sticker on the window. The same person has made similar comments about wishing that the opposing teams quarterback would get his leg broke, etc..I live in east Tennessee and I love my beautiful state and used to attend UT games. But something changed. There is an AM talk radio show in this area of which I have been somewhat cornered into having the displeasure of hearing several times over the past several years on my ride home from work. I am saddened by the fact that there are so many " no-lifes" in this day and age who talk about SPORTS like it is IMPORTANT. It's a GAME, face the reality! Also, those guys in their "super-hero" orange tighties are human just like you, except you probably do not have as many marks on your criminal record as they do!Those of you ( And you are many!!) who are so insecure that you put your identity in sports need to get a life. If you people would put the time, energy and money into a worth while cause ( like raising your kids properly...building your broken marriage...visiting your neighbor across the street that you have never met...doing SOMETHING to save this nation from going to hell! ) that you put into "UT sports" well, This world would'nt be in the shape its in. College is great; I've been to two, There's nothing wrong with playing games and having fun, just please do me a favor and remember it's only a GAME! Life has other more important priorities. God have mercy on America!

I think the Vols are not going to be great this year due to all of the injuries they are suffering. But I think they will be pretty good next year depending on if they can get a stud qb to compete with stevens.

The things you mentioned are indeed more important than football. There are times when I dedicate too much time to VOL football and my wife who was raised in Knoxville and graduated from there has let me know about on occassion (heck she was even Smokie way back in 1979). Having a strong marriage, teaching kids Christian values and living at peace with your neighbor are pillars to society. Still, let us be guys because we love football.
